Dropping some thoughts here. Woke up to my body feeling much better, back is still stiff, but the agonizing pain is gone. Some updates…

Flobots - Doing a bunch of top secret stuff still. On the comic front, Still updating story #1, which is almost finished. I think I’m going to drop 3 full pages this week, M-W-F, and the next story will be in daily installments of a different format. The response has been REALLY good to this so far, I know the story has progressed slowly, and honestly, I’m not even to the “melt your mind” part of it yet, or the actual sci-fi hooks. I can’t wait to get there. I’m also gearing up to do sketchcards to benefit the Flobots.org and something neat for fans. I’ve been strategically practicing on getting much faster and not as picky with my work….

Speaking of practicing drawing faster…. Will Draw Anythings - Drama! That didn’t take long at all. I’ve received some pretty graphic requests and some I’ve turned down, and I even had to ammend the rules for no “X” rated stuff for the sake of being x-rated. You wouldn’t believe some of the requests (or maybe you would) but I won’t repeat them here. One that came in and I was on the fence with before I changed the rules up, was a dark satire piece featuring the Red Skull, skullhumping, not just ANY skull, but the character Skull from PVP. It made me laugh. When i published it over a week ago, I was sure to hide it away under a more-tag as to not completely visually offend someone stumbling along and browsing.

While this image is protected under satire and one time use as art under copyright law, Scott Kurtz got upset and threw a fit, called me a bunch of names, belittled my good professional name, demanded two dollars and asked me to remove the post here.

I did then immediately remove it, only because it made him so upset, but that wasn’t the intent of the drawing. (bonus after effect maybe?) To spell out the satire for anyone who doesn’t get it….It was a picture requested of the Red Skull, skullhumping his character Skull. Get it? Red Skull skullhumping not just ANY skull, but the skull of a character named Skull.Later on it was even added that I should draw them wearing “skull caps” or add in any other skull mentions. Bad taste, yes. Infringement? No. Mr. Kurtz blew this out of proportion, and has drawn even more attention to a drawing that was running for an entire week, buried in requests, and even hidden behind a “more” tag with a warning to not click because you might be visually offended.

In less than 24 hours, I now have …12… requests for $2 dollar drawings that include Scott Kurtz, his characters, his family, all in dark satire situations, and I’ve declined every one. It was never my intent to do these drawings as personal attacks or to hurt someone’s feelings directly. If it was, especially after the names I’ve been called and personal attacks thrown against me by Mr. Kurtz, I’d gladly go and draw every one of those drawings that just came in without any apologies…. but that would be stupid. Just like pitching a big fit about it was publicly. I would have never blogged or mentioned this at all, I would have just quietly taken it down and let it glide away into the ether. Maybe i should add a new “No Scott Kurtz” rule now? Hmmm…

Well, the little drawings are stacking up, and I have some much bigger work to do as well, so I’m ending this post right here.
