I have to say I’m slightly offended. I mean it was you, years ago, who gave me the name “Reasonable Asshole”. I find it completely offensive that this guy would try to take my title away LOL. Then again, if aFriend is actually him, then he isn’t being reasonable at all, and he really just needs to leave it alone. I took the things Luigi actually said and posted them here verbatim. I actually just had a conversation with Luigi where he apologized and I was going to blog about that tomorrow, but now it might look like I’ll be tracking whoever you are down and posting that.

I’m a very public person, and you can make up whatever allegations you want, but you might find yourself in some hot water talking crap like that. I almost dare you to register that name and take up hosting with my friends Dreamhost, you’d be doing me a big favor in actually taking YOU to court. See, the thing about slander and libel is, it has to be true, the person has to have said it and I have the proof of that in Luigi’s case. YOu should move on and let this rest. Anti-Muslim rant – yes, crappy and stupid – but this is America, and the law will see him as well within his right to express his [obnoxious] opinion. I don’t see Luigi making any suggestion that Muslims should be shot. He may well feel they should be, but he does not even “wink-wink” hint at gunplay. The closest he gets to a real threat is implying that he is a hitman [If DJ needed to react to this guy I would have suggested that he just forward that stupid hitman tidbit to the FBI and let them scare the $#!+ out of him.]and even then he implies that it was HIM being threatened and he wishes the Coffman Family well.

If porn and such nonsense starts showing up on this guys doorstep and his phone rings off the hook, he is obviously reading this site and will surely – if pissed off badly enough – sent the authorities here to start the investigation whether anyone here was directly involved or not. Who needs that crap? The Law/ACLU, however unfair one may feel it to be, will see him as exercising his right to free speech [it already protects the KKK when the stay within the law] and as him being harrassed for stating his beliefs. But then the Law don’t seem to have done much for DJ when his sign was vandalized – so I could be full of it too.

Anyway, I’m not trying to scold anyone, just advising you to be careful. It’s just a possible that some warped Muslim with a gun could use this as an excuse go after the melodic Italian Stallion.

I appreciate your sentiment, but I don’t think you hit on the point of it. Nothing that was posted was anything other than publicly available information, very simple to find without any effort. By and large, the folks here wouldn’t do anything, and even if they did, taking any information from here that is readily publicly available elsewhere is slim grounds for any trouble.

The point that I was trying to make, satirical in nature, is that there ARE sites out there where the people aren’t so benign, and that Luigi (it’sa me!) may want to think long and hard before posting something inflammatory (and in his mind, anonymously) online. Implying someone may send an inappropriate package to a neighbor is one thing, posting (for example) an anti-Muslim rant where someone with a warped view of Islam, a gun, lives nearby, and is having a bad day may be something totally different.
