Political Irony
Right after I had typed the last line of my previous blog about confronting racism in our area of Southwestern Pennsylvania, I got a call from a reporter from the Canadian Broadcasting company who had seen my comment on NPR and wanted to know if they could stop by for an interview, so I agreed. It was a good and honest conversation. I will post links to the video when it’s up.
It’s becoming news not only because of Jack Murtha’s honest comments, but now you have McCain running around our area acting as if this was a false statement, when it was 100% accurate and honest of Mr. Murtha to say this… maybe not smart of him to say it, but it was true. Of course this doesn’t mean that ALL of the people going to McCain rallies are racist bigots in this area, but I bet you there are more than a handful that are coming out for THAT very reason. And that is sad.
The landslide that’s coming will hopefully bury this ignorance for good.
